Sandy Trail
1/18/2015: This is something of a hidden gem, in my opinion. Marguerite and I were driving north from Pacific City to “see what we could see” and drove right by the entrance. Marguerite said, “that looks interesting.” So, being a husband that listens to his wife, I slammed on the brakes, did a 180 and we drove over the small bridge to the Clay Myers parking area. We hike the very easy 1.4-mile loop. What a nice little hike. Almost no elevation gain and a truly great place to take the family. After your hike, you can use the bathroom, walk down to the creek and have a picnic. If you have little ones chomping at the bits for their first hikes, then this is a great place to go. The creek can run fast so keep an eye on them.
